GERA advocates for the rights and dignity of refugees and conflict-affected communities on the global stage. As an organization affiliated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, GERA engages in international advocacy, participates in United Nations meetings and civil society briefings, and serves as a panelist at global forums.
GERA has partnered with UNICEF to plan and implement initiatives such as the Refugees Welcome Campaign, supporting refugee families through community-based programming and public engagement. GERA's youth participants have spoken at the United Nations during World Children's Day celebrations, amplifying refugee voices before global leaders.
At the local level, GERA works closely with government partners to advance policies that promote economic independence and human dignity for refugee families. In 2019, GERA was honored by Passaic County for its impact and helped secure official recognition of June 20 as World Refugee Day.
