Francesco De Flaviis is the Vice President, Marketing and Communications for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF; a non-profit organization that supports UNICEF’s work, and other efforts to save and protect the world’s children, through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States.  In his capacity, Francesco is responsible for the branding, marketing and communications strategy. He oversees several teams including marketing, research, entertainment marketing, content, social media, and video production.

Francesco became an Adviser from GERA in 2016.

Prior to joining UNICEF, Francesco spent 15 years of his career in consumer and luxury brands. Most recently, he served as Head of Marketing at Moleskine, the brand of the legendary black notebook. He helped Moleskine launch its own U.S. retail operation, expand to Latin American Markets, and ultimately become a public company in 2013.

Francesco is a native of Italy, where he attended medical school at the University of Milan before moving to New York and graduated from Baruch College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He lives in New York City with his family. In his spare time, he is an avid baker, traveler and marathon runner.
